There is probably an offender of children in every neighborhood. The Internet only lists convicted offenders. Most offenders are known to their child victims and most offenses are committed right in children's own homes ( or neighbor's homes and places thought to be safe). Most offenders are KNOWN individuals, and not the ones scaring parents on TV.
This book was written by a children's/ family counselor and a parent, who has worked as a counselor and worked for government to assess incarcerated sex offenders. Learn how offenders GET kids and learn how to better teach children to stay safe.
Estimates are that 1 million children a year are violated. Instructing our children about STRANGERS has done little-to-nothing to keep kids safe from known individuals and family members. Ignoring or not wanting to know hasn't worked either! Approximately 1/4 to 1/2 of children may be violated by age 18. Education and new safety programs may be the only answer to eradicating these crimes against children.
