It is estimated that 1/4 to 1/2 of all children will be violated by age 18. Estimates are that 1 million children are violated each year, mostly by touching.
Most offenders are KNOWN individuals. Most reported offenders are family members. Most offenders violate children in their own homes. Developing safety programs against strangers probably has done little-to-nothing to protect our children from offenders.
Offenders probably will look just like us...trusting adults. Learning how to teach children to protect themselves may be the only way to reduce these crimes. There ARE answers! And, children may be more likely to meet an offender than encounter fire.
The author has worked as a children's and family counselor, as a teacher, and worked for the government to assess sex offenders prior to their releases from prisons. The stories are the same; the offenders are different. Their excuses nearly the same...No, alcohol doesn't MAKE people violate children!
These same games may've been used on YOU! "It wasn't your fault."
